"BМТ" develops and manufactures the plants for processing and disposal of spent lubrucants (coolant) by decomposing of spent emulsions to produce purified water suitable reuse in the production (for new coolant portions), or for sewer discharge. Besides it is possible to process coolant concentrate to minimize waste including coolant, emulsions, grinding oils and other liquids using mesh metal filters up to 5 microns.

To process and neutralize oil-containing emulsions, “BMT” offers various methods depending on the effluents composition, daily volume and treatment requirements.

Modern lubricants for metal treatment are multi-component compounds containing organic and inorganic substances (emulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, biocides, anti-wear and extreme pressure additives) in water, organic media and their mixtures, characterized by high kinetic and thermodynamic stability, thus greatly complicating their processing applying traditional methods. For the correct choice of the technology it is required to make chemical analysis of the lubricant.


«BМТ» offers the plants for purifying and separating lubricants in the basis of ceramic ultrafiltration membranes. Concentrate and free petroleums (fed for burning) formed in the process of treatment can be reused. This technology can also be used for recovery of alkali washing and degreasing solutions avoiding any discharge and providing their complete reuse.

Several technological variants are developed depending on the requirement to the filtrate.

The set of treatment stages is individual in each case and depends on emulsion type, contamination rate and treatment requirements.

«BМТ» suggests the emulsion (lubricant) separation technology includes the following stages:

  • Free oil and petroleums skimming, suspended matters sedimentation

  • Educing and concentrating of emulsified oil, petroleums and mechanical impurities applying ultrafiltration

  • Removal of dissolved petroleums in carbon filter

  • RO membrane desalination

Chemical treatment plans

In cases of high petroleums concentration in emulsions traditional Ultrafiltration is not always effective. We offer chemical treatment technology which provides water treatment with petroleum content of 10-15 mg/l. in the process of treatment insoluble compounds in the form of flakes are formed ensuring maximum removal of soaps and oil products. Optional is the additional treatment using activated carbon.

The technology includes the following stages:

  • Lubricant is treated with sulfuric acid reaching pH=2 at the temperature of 80-90 ° C providing decomposition.

  • Lubricant is treated with alkali reaching pH - 8-9 with the following filtration providing the removal most soaps and residual petroleum products.

The remained suspension is fed to the filter-press for dewatering. The wastewater is discharged to the treatment facilities.
